Setting itself apart with a commitment to responsible food sourcing, Arcadia boasts an urban hydroponic farm spanning 55 square metres. Producing over 18 varieties of leafy greens and herbs such as kale lettuce, wasabina, arugula, basil, dill, sage, thyme, and edible flowers, this sustainable initiative yields 210kg monthly and ensures the freshest produce across the resort's signature restaurants. To date, these efforts have led to 79% reduction in food waste – an impressive equivalent to 11,792 meals.

The Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project and Turtle Tea at Jumeirah Al Naseem

For nearly two decades, Jumeirah Group has been successfully tending to sick or injured turtles since the inception of its dedicated programme in 2004, the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP). With all seven species of marine turtles facing extinction threats, including the critically endangered Hawksbill turtle, of which only approximately 8,000 nesting females remain globally, the project has aided in the release of over 2,100 rehabilitated turtles.

Central to this project is the Turtle Rehabilitation Sanctuary, set within the serene grounds of Jumeirah Al Naseem. Beginning their recovery journey with initial treatment at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah's Aquarium, these majestic creatures receive specialised care and attention, fostering their healing before being transferred to the sanctuary's tranquil lagoon. Visitors are not only invited to witness their rehabilitation as it unfolds but can also actively engage in feeding the remarkable turtles. Additionally, they have the opportunity to invest in an afternoon tea experience called ‘Turtle Tea by Idriss B,’ the proceeds of which support the rehabilitation of turtles, allowing them to become a part of the turtles' journey before their eventual release back into the wild.

Orange groves experience at Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca
