The favourite retreat of Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus and his adoptive son and successor Tiberius, who had the first pleasure palaces built here for them over 2,000 years ago, Capri has long been attracting renowned writers, political leaders and actors looking to fully unplug. As Lenin remarked when visiting Maxim Gorky here in 1910: “Capri makes you forget everything.”
Capri, with its precipitous craggy cliffs and rich and varied flora, offers endless possibilities for outdoor adventures. The Sentiero dei Fortini (‘Path of Forts’) on the western side of Capri is one of the island’s most spectacular walks, crossing the western coast from the Blue Grotto to the Punta Carena, and takes around three hours to complete. The Pizzolungo Path, which traces the coastline to the Arco Naturale stone archway, is also breath-taking and offers splendid views over the Faraglioni rock formations and Punta Masullo. Alternatively, hike or jog past vine-covered terraces and rural farmhouses up to the dramatic Belvedere del Tuono viewpoint for enchanting views over the sea and the Punta Carena lighthouse.
Set in a state-of-the-art Beauty&Health Farm, against the backdrop of an eighteenth-century Neapolitan palazzo, our world-class Capri Medical Spa immediately immerses guests in a calm and restorative environment. The extensive menu at Capri Medical Spa includes sea-salt scrubs to brighten and nourish dry skin, a range of body wraps that rely on the health-boosting properties of marine algae and seaweed, and LED light therapies to soothe and reduce wrinkles. The signature Leg School®, developed by medical director Professor Francesco Canonaco, uses clay mud and cold bandages to improve circulation and oxygenate tissue, and we offer a selection of programmes which encourage guests to adopt a healthier lifestyle, release tension and recover from stress. To improve flexibility and boost core strength, guests can book a private yoga or Pilates class.
In addition to our 40-metre mosaic swimming pool, guests at Jumeirah Capri Palace can also enjoy our exclusive Il Riccio Beach Club, set on a cliff on the north shore of the island, near the famous Blue Grotto. It is accessible by a staircase that zigzags down to the water’s edge. Guests will find sunbeds and loungers at their disposal to perfect their tan and a delicious menu at restaurant Il Ricco, which features out-of-this-world raw and cooked seafood delicacies paired with top Italian and international wines. Then there is the picturesque beach at Marina Piccola, located on the southern side of the island with beautiful views of the Faraglioni.
Enjoying rich Italian cuisine does not have to come at the expense of staying healthy. Our two Michelin-starred restaurant L'Olivo has perfected traditional Caprese cooking with a modern twist from head chef Andrea Migliaccio, inspired by local fresh produce to create an incredible menu of mouth-watering dishes. From flavoursome blue lobster with spinach, saffron and citrus-scented vegetables to an array of traditional pastas and meats, Migliaccio takes guests on an unforgettable culinary journey across Southern Italy. Bistrot Ragù overlooks the glittering Gulf of Naples and is perfect for lazy summer lunches on the terrace, featuring signature dishes like Parmigiana di Melanzane and a refreshing seafood tartare.
Revitalise the mind, body and soul when you stay at Jumeirah Capri Palace.
