Tranquil waters, a stylish marina and one of the largest boating markets in the Arabian Gulf make Kuwait a great place for those keen on nautical pursuits.

Where to base yourself

Kuwait has an abundance of boating facilities on offer, particularly along the sophisticated Marina Crescent. This elegant stretch of waterfront offers 144 berths and a yacht club, and is the epicentre of the boating season which runs from April to September (the opposite of the UAE countries). It’s also the site of the prestigious Kuwait Yacht Show every March; a sociable occasion that showcases a glittering fleet of the latest vessels and yachting accessories.

Nautical adventures

To head out on the water, there are a number of great options:

Sailing
If you fancy setting sail on a private ocean adventure, consider chartering your own luxury yacht. Based in Salmiya, Silsan offers quality 15-berth yachts for charter. International charter specialist Fraser has a Kuwait office, too.

Powerboating
Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of jetting off along the azure Gulf waters on a powerboat. Powerboat and Safari offer boat charters for guests who like speed.

Fishing
Spend the day out at sea angling for amberjacks and cobias on a Kuwait fishing trip. SeaQuest Trips and Captain Salim offer exciting ocean voyages for groups of up to 10.

Don’t miss a chance to explore Kuwait’s nine islands. The best way to visit these is via a boat excursion, particularly the uninhabited Kubbar Island, a tranquil spot surrounded by coral reefs that is superb for snorkelling. Trips run from Silsan Boat Club and there’s also a ferry service to Failaka Island that departs from Ras Salmiya.

Located on the waterfront, the luxurious Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa is the perfect base for your boating holiday in Kuwait.
